Job Description Manager – Human Resources and Administration

Location: SEEPZ, Mumbai

Position Summary

The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing HR operational tasks. This role demands good people management skills, while ensuring smooth execution of HR processes like recruitment, payroll, onboarding, grievance redressal, and compliance. The role will serve as the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for all HR-related operational and statutory compliance matters across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Team Management

• Supervise day-to-day HR operations and ensure timely execution of HR activities, compliance with internal SOPs and statutory norms.


• Conduct structured New Joiner Induction & Orientation to ensure smooth onboarding, integration, and alignment to the organization.


• Implement and analyze 7-30-60 day employee feedback, generate insights and action plans to improve new hire experience.


• Conduct exit interviews and share analysis with management on attrition trends and retention strategies.


• Review and verify HR vendor invoices and raise approvals as per company protocol.


• Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the HR team.

Payroll & Compliance

• Review and validate monthly payroll inputs for accuracy and approval.


• Liaise with the accounts team to ensure timely salary disbursements.


• Support audit preparedness and represent HR in internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation.

Audit Representation

• Represent HR & Admin functions during internal and external audits.


• Ensure audit preparedness with proper documentation, policy implementation, and compliance with audit requirements and standards.

Talent Acquisition

• Drive recruitment for all positions across the organization, including job posting, candidate screening, interviews, and coordination.


• Partner with placement agencies and HR vendors to ensure hiring of critical resources.

Employee Engagement & Grievance Redressal

• Conduct daily floor visits across all units to maintain visibility, approachability, and engagement with employees.


• Organize regular Open House sessions to promote transparency.


• Document, address, and resolve employee grievances effectively, and escalate to management as required.

Administration & Facility Management

• Oversee the admin team with regard to office housekeeping, facility upkeep, canteen, security, and guest handling.


• Ensure safety, hygiene, and readiness of all administrative support functions across all units.


• Coordinate logistics for events, employee movements, etc.

Candidate Profile

Education & Qualifications

• Graduate


• PGDM in HR or relevant HR certifications

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in HR operations, managing a team of 2–3 members


• At least 1/3rd of total experience should be in the gems and jewelry industry

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HR operations, labor laws, and compliance


• Ability to handle grievance redressal


• Proficiency in HRMS tools and Excel
