Role & Responsibilities

Academic & Curriculum

• Teach Telugu across the school as per the assigned grades and curriculum.
  
• Plan and deliver engaging Telugu lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
  
• Develop students’ proficiency in Telugu language, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
  
• Promote appreciation and understanding of Telugu literature, culture, and heritage.
  
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, question banks, study materials, and other academic resources.
  

Language Development & Student Learning

• Develop students’ communication skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities.
  
• Encourage students to develop a strong vocabulary and command of Telugu grammar.
  
• Introduce age-appropriate Telugu literature, poetry, stories, and creative writing.
  
• Use interactive and activity-based teaching methodologies to make language learning engaging.
  
• Support students in developing confidence in using Telugu in academic and everyday contexts.
  

Assessment & Student Support

• Conduct and evaluate class tests, periodic assessments, examinations, and other assessments.
  
• Analyse student performance and identify learning gaps.
  
• Provide remedial and enrichment support based on individual student needs.
  
• Prepare students for school-level and board examinations, wherever applicable.
  
• Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
  
• Provide regular feedback to students and support their overall language development.
  

Co-Curricular & Cultural Activities

• Encourage student participation in Telugu-related competitions, cultural programmes, literary activities, and celebrations.
  
• Support school events through Telugu speeches, anchoring, poetry, drama, storytelling, and other language-based activities.
  
• Promote awareness and appreciation of Telugu language, literature, traditions, and cultural heritage.
  
• Contribute to the planning and execution of language and cultural activities across the school.
  

Professional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Languages Department and other faculty members for academic planning.
  
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, workshops, and professional development programmes.
  
• Maintain lesson plans, student records, assessment documentation, and other academic requirements.
  
• Follow school policies, academic standards, and classroom management practices.
  
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
  

Requirements

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telugu or a relevant discipline from a recognised university.
  
• B.Ed. preferred/required as per applicable norms.
  
• Prior experience teaching Telugu in schools is preferred.
  
• Candidates with experience teaching Telugu across multiple grade levels will be preferred.
  
• Strong command of Telugu language, grammar, literature, reading, and writing.
  
• Good understanding of age-appropriate language teaching methodologies.
  
• Ability to engage students through interactive, creative, and activity-based learning.
  
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work effectively with students of different learning levels and age groups.
  
• Experience in reputed schools or international/CBSE school environments will be an advantage.
  
• Passion for Telugu language, literature, culture, and holistic student development.
