Role Title: IB DP Mathematics Teacher (AA HL / SL)


Openings: 2 Vacancies (1 for Bangalore Campus, 1 for Chennai Campus)


Location: Bangalore, Karnataka | Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Independent IB World Schools)


Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site


Department: Senior School / IB Diploma Programme Faculty


Reports To: IB DP Coordinator / Head of Mathematics


Role Summary


We are seeking two passionate, intellectually rigorous, and pedagogical educators to take on the roles of IB DP Mathematics Teacher (specializing in Analysis & Approaches - Higher Level) for two premier IB World Schools located in Bangalore and Chennai.


The successful candidate will instruct students in Grades 11 and 12 (IB DP Year 1 & 2), preparing them for rigorous external assessments (Papers 1, 2, and 3), supervising the Internal Assessment (Mathematical Exploration), and integrating inquiry-based learning aligned with the IB philosophy and learner profile.


Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning & Instruction




  • Plan, differentiate, and deliver inquiry-driven lessons in IB DP Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL).




  • Foster deep conceptual understanding across advanced mathematical strands, including rigorous proof (induction, contradiction), complex numbers, vector spaces, differential equations, and calculus.




  • Embed Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, concept-driven inquiry, and international-mindedness into daily teaching.




  • Integrate technology purposefully into learning, including graphic display calculators (GDC: TI-Nspire / Casio), Desmos, GeoGebra, and mathematical dynamic software.




2. Assessment & Academic Guidance




  • Scaffold and mentor students through all phases of the IB DP Internal Assessment (Mathematical Exploration), ensuring adherence to IB criteria (communication, mathematical presentation, personal engagement, reflection, use of mathematics).




  • Design, conduct, and moderate formative and summative assessments matching IB DP exam standards, specifically training HL students on non-calculator fluency (Paper 1), calculator application (Paper 2), and extended inquiry/problem-solving tasks (Paper 3).




  • Provide timely, criterion-based feedback and track individual student performance data to guide targeted intervention.




3. Core IB DP & Pastoral Commitments




  • Supervise Extended Essays (EE) in Mathematics and World Studies where applicable.




  • Support interdisciplinary connections with Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and CAS initiatives.




  • Serve as a homeroom advisor/pastoral mentor, conducting parent-teacher conferences and supporting university application recommendations for STEM-bound students.




  • Participate actively in department meetings, collaborative unit planning, and annual IB program evaluation processes.




Required Qualifications & ExperienceEducation & Certification




  • Academic Degree: Master’s degree (M.Sc. / M.A. / Equivalent) in Mathematics




  • Teaching Credential: Recognised teaching license/degree (B.Ed., PGCE, or international teaching certificate).




  • IB Training: Official IBO Category 1 or Category 2 workshop certification in DP Mathematics (AA) preferred.




Experience




  • Minimum 3–5 years of senior-secondary mathematics teaching experience, with at least 2 years teaching IB DP Mathematics AA HL.




  • Demonstrated track record of strong student achievement and grade distributions (Level 6/7) in IB external examinations.




  • Proven experience guiding and authenticating IB DP Internal Assessments.




  • Familiarity with CIE A-Level (Further Maths) or Cambridge IGCSE / IB MYP frameworks is advantageous.
