Job Description - Manager - HR

About the Role

We are hiring an HR Manager to independently lead and strengthen the HR function at Metalegal Advocates. This is a high -ownership role where the selected candidate will work closely with leadership to streamline, strengthen, and build scalable HR systems, processes, and organisational practices across the Firm.

The role requires someone who can identify operational gaps, improve existing structures, and implement practical HR frameworks that support organisational growth, accountability, and professional culture.

What You'll Own

HR Infrastructure
• Review existing HR processes and strengthen policies, SOPs, workflows, and overall HR systems across the Firm.

Recruitment & Talent Management
• Manage end -to -end recruitment through Zoho Recruit, including sourcing, interview coordination, offer management, onboarding, and hiring process structuring.

Employee Lifecycle Management
• Independently manage attendance, leave, onboarding, confirmations, payroll coordination, exits, and employee records through Zoho People.

Performance Management
• Coordinate and strengthen appraisal processes, probation evaluations, feedback mechanisms, performance discussions, and improvement monitoring systems.

Compliance & Governance
• Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, gratuity, professional tax, POSH requirements, and applicable labour law obligations.

Employee Engagement & Communication
• Drive employee engagement initiatives, internal communication practices, organisational coordination, and HR responsiveness.

HR Reporting & Operational Insights
• Prepare HR MIS dashboards and reports relating to headcount, attrition, recruitment, leave, and operational trends for management review.

Requirements

• MBA in HR or equivalent post -graduate qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of hands -on HR experience, including experience in independently handling core HR operations.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
• Prior experience in a law firm, consulting firm, CA firm, or other professional services environment will be an added advantage.
• Experience in process -building, operational structuring, and HR system implementation will be preferred.

The role requires practical problem -solving ability, an ownership mindset, operational maturity, and the ability to independently manage and strengthen HR systems in a fast -paced professional environment.
