Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Matillion SaaS environments, including user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC) and environment configuration.
  
• Monitor platform health, job execution, and resource utilization; proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, failed jobs, and connectivity issues.
  
• Configure and maintain Matillion agent deployments for hybrid connectivity between on-premises data sources and cloud environments.
  
• Manage connections, credentials, and secrets for data source integrations (databases, APIs, cloud storage, SaaS applications) in alignment with security policies.
  
• Enforce platform governance standards including naming conventions, project structure, version control practices, and environment promotion workflows.
  
• Support onboarding of new users and teams onto the Matillion platform — providing training, documentation, and hands-on enablement.
  
• Coordinate with cloud infrastructure and DevOps teams to manage Matillion environment upgrades, patch management, and release deployments.
  
• Maintain audit logs, compliance records, and access reviews to meet organizational security and data governance requirements.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-level issues raised by data engineering teams, escalating to Matillion support when required.
  
• Develop and maintain platform runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles for ongoing support and team reference.
  
• Participate in capacity planning discussions and provide recommendations for platform scaling and cost optimization.
  

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a platform administration, data infrastructure, or data operations role.
  
• Hands-on experience administering Matillion SaaS or Matillion ETL environments, including user management, project configuration, and environment governance.
  
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including IAM/access management, networking basics, and storage services.
  
• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Google BigQuery — particularly around connectivity and access setup.
  
• Experience with hybrid data integration patterns and configuring on-premises-to-cloud agent-based connectivity.
  
• Understanding of data security principles including credential management, secrets vaulting (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault), and RBAC.
  
• Proficiency in SQL for ad hoc troubleshooting, log querying, and basic data validation tasks.
  
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple environments, requests, and priorities simultaneously.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Matillion certification (Matillion Certified Data Engineer or equivalent platform credential).
  
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL, including incident, change, and problem management processes.
  
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) for managing cloud-based Matillion agent infrastructure.
  
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog) integrated with Matillion job execution.
  
• Experience working in a consulting or managed services environment supporting multiple client platforms concurrently.
  
• Knowledge of Git-based version control as it applies to Matillion project export/import and environment promotion.
