Operations & Maintenance (O & M)

Role Objective

Ensure *maximum plant availability, generation integrity, and asset life* through disciplined monitoring, preventive maintenance, rapid fault resolution, and compliant documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Performance Monitoring

* Monitor solar plant performance daily using *SCADA and monitoring platforms*.

* Track key performance metrics (generation, PR, availability, inverter uptime).

* Identify performance deviations, alarms, and degradation trends; initiate corrective actions as per SOPs.

2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

* Execute *scheduled preventive maintenance* for inverters, modules, transformers, HT/LT panels, switch gear, and BOS equipment.

* Diagnose and resolve *electrical, mechanical, and communication faults*.

* Ensure quick restoration of plant operation to minimize downtime and generation loss.

3. Site Management & Housekeeping

* Conduct routine *site inspections, safety checks, and housekeeping audits*.

* Plan and supervise *module cleaning cycles* based on site conditions and performance data.

* Oversee vendors and subcontractors engaged in O&M activities and ensure work quality.

4. Reporting & Documentation

* Prepare *daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports* covering generation, downtime, faults, and actions taken.

* Maintain logs for maintenance activities, spare parts usage, alarms, and configuration changes.

* Escalate critical issues to O&M Manager with *root cause and recommended mitigation*.

5. Safety & Statutory Compliance

* Ensure strict adherence to *HSE standards, electrical safety norms, and OEM guidelines*.

* Implement and enforce *Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)* procedures.

* Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting as required.

6. Technical Support & Continuous Improvement

* Support *root-cause analysis (RCA)* for recurring faults and under performance.

* Assist in commissioning, stabilization, and takeover of new solar assets.

* Provide field feedback to *Design and Engineering teams* for reliability and maintainability improvements.

Requirements

Educational Qualification

* Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in *Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy*, or related discipline.

Experience

* *1–5 years* of hands-on experience in *Solar PV Operations & Maintenance* (rooftop and/or ground-mounted).

* Exposure to *inverters, transformers, HT/LT systems, SCADA, and energy meters*.

Technical Skills

* Strong understanding of *solar PV systems, protection schemes, and electrical safety standards*.

* Ability to troubleshoot electrical, inverter, and communication faults.

* Hands-on experience with *multi meters, insulation testers, thermal cameras*, and basic diagnostic tools.

Behavioral Traits

* High ownership of plant uptime and safety.

* Comfortable working *independently at remote sites*.

* Structured reporting and clear escalation discipline.
