Principal Engineer - Mechanical

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for energy meters / electronic products.
  
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
  
• Handle plastic part design considering DFM/DFA principles.
  
• Address and resolve mould design and tooling -related issues in coordination with mould vendors.
  
• Support manufacturing during tool trials, pilot runs, and mass production.
  
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and stack -up analysis.
  
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  
• Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
  
• Coordinate with cross -functional teams (Electronics, Quality, SCM, Production).
  
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company design guidelines.
  

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, Sheet Metal, Surfacing).
  
• Good understanding of plastic injection moulding processes.
  
• Experience in product design and development lifecycle.
  
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
  
• Hands -on experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA concepts.
  
• Ability to interact with tool makers and vendors
  
• Exposure to prototype development and validation testing.
  
• Good problem -solving and analytical skills.
  
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
  
• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
