Principal SW Architect

The Business Consultant will be part of the Honeywell AutonomyX Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Pune, India, and will play an active role in developing and executing business consulting activities for Middle East, Turkey, and Central Asia (META) region opportunities, with flexibility to engage other regions depending on workload. This role will combine selective front-office ownership of qualified customer opportunities with back-office business development, analysis, proposal, and value-storyline execution in partnership with the Middle East business consulting team.

1) Business development and selective opportunity leadership for META digital transformation programs for operating companies:

• Co-lead opportunity development for Honeywell AutonomyX and related transformation programs across META, working closely with the Middle East business consulting lead and regional sales teams, including 
  • Research customer operating models, business priorities, performance improvement levers, and digital/autonomy transformation opportunities
  • Translate customer challenges into structured consulting problem statements linked to Honeywell and AutonomyX solutions
  • Own preparation of executive engagement materials, value hypotheses, customer narratives, and account-specific storylines for selected pursuits
  • Lead or actively participate in selected customer-facing discussions and workshops, including preparation, facilitation, documentation, and follow-up from Pune or on site when required
  • Own customer-ready material including value propositions, executive summaries, business cases, case studies, and sales enablement content for assigned opportunities
  • Lead preparation and follow-through for selected regional demonstrations, conferences, campaigns, and strategic pursuits
• Drive go-to-market planning inputs, account prioritization, white-space analysis, customer segmentation for Honeywell AutonomyX and Process Automation 

2) Consulting workshops, studies and execution ownership

• Lead or co-lead scoping of customer diagnostic exercises, workshops, value assessments, and consulting studies for selected META opportunities
• Develop consulting proposals, workshop agendas, data request lists, workplans, interview guides, and analysis frameworks with appropriate regional input
• Coordinate and drive inputs from technical, sales, and solution teams to produce structured consulting deliverables
• Own the development of diagnostic reports, gap analyses, business cases, value roadmaps, maturity assessments, and adoption plans for assigned workstreams
• Drive follow-up actions, maintain opportunity documentation, and lead handover from consulting discovery into sales execution where assigned

3) CoE capability building and organizational enablement

• Build and continuously improve repeatable AutonomyX consulting assets, templates, value frameworks, and proposal content within the Pune CoE
• Lead selected internal enablement activities for value-based selling and consulting-led opportunity development across META
• Share best practices, case studies, and reusable methods with regional sales, consulting, and solution teams

Skills and qualifications

• Prior consulting experience with a leading consulting firm at Associate level or equivalent, including strategy, operations, transformation, digital, or value-creation work. Alternatively MBA from a leading business school
• Prior experience in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, refining, petrochemicals, or other process industries preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical engineering discipline preferred; Chemical Engineering is desirable, although other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered
• Preferred experience in running or contributing to operational transformation programs, performance improvement initiatives, digital transformation programs, or operating model improvement efforts
• Demonstrated ability to lead defined consulting workstreams, customer workshops, or opportunity development activities with senior stakeholder exposure
• Strong written communication and executive-presentation preparation skills, with ability to create clear customer-facing narratives and C-suite-ready materials
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including ability to structure ambiguous business problems, identify customer value levers, and translate analysis into actionable recommendations
• Strong quantitative skills, including business case development, financial modelling, scenario planning, benchmarking, and value analysis
• Ability to work effectively from Pune with META stakeholders across time zones, balancing independent ownership, remote collaboration, and selected customer-facing engagement
• Ability to travel to Middle East selectively for high-value customer workshops, internal alignment sessions, and strategic pursuits as required
