Job Description - Project Engineer

Extensive experience in industrial gas distribution and generation systems,
including Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon, Natural Gas, and associated utility networks.
Proven capability in fuel gas balancing, fuel oil handling systems (as per OISD
standards), compressed air systems, steam networks (HP/MP/LP), steam and
energy balance, WHRB, auxiliary boilers (gas -fired and oil -fired), STG and HRSG
packages, as well as hydraulic , lubrication and pneumatic systems.
• Strong proficiency in conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering, encompassing
process conceptualization, basic design development, heat and mass balance
calculations, equipment selection, plant and unit sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
• Highly skilled in the preparation of PFDs and P&IDs, equipment, line, valve, and
load lists, process and mechanical datasheets, operating & control philosophy,
basic and equipment layouts, civil assignment drawings with load data, and BOQs
for utility systems.
• Hands -on experience in tender engineering, including preparation of tender
specifications, technical bid analysis, techno -economic evaluations, contract
specifications, vendor document review, and close coordination during
procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Strong competence in developing CAPEX and OPEX estimates for utility and energy
systems, supporting project feasibility studies and management decision -making.
• Conversant with industry -standard engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Pipenet,
Navisworks, and 3D model review platforms for effective design development and
clash resolution.
• Experienced in proposal preparation, engineering effort estimation, tender
submissions, and contract finalization, with a clear understanding of commercial
and technical interfaces.
• Sound working knowledge of project management fundamentals, with proven
ability in inter -disciplinary and intra -disciplinary coordination to ensure timely and
high -quality project execution.

Requirements

Qualification • Bachelor of Engineering/Equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master’s degree will be of added advantage
Total Experience 10 - 22 years
Relevant Industry
Experience
Integrated Steel Plant, Beneficiation Plant, Non -Ferrous Plants including Refinery,
Smelters, etc.
Knowledge of Standards
and Codes
• IS standard, PESO.
• International codes of design (both American and European codes), OISD, HSG,
AIGA, EIGA, ASME , APIs etc.
Software Exposure • Hands on exposure to 3D modelling
• AutoCAD Plant 3D / E -3D, NAVISWORK, etc.
• MS Office
• Pipenet or similar software.
• Groom and mentor juniors (Applicable for experience having minimum 12 years)
Hand on experience Engineering, Engineering manager / SPOC.
• Coordinate with other Disciplines - civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation
• Primarily work from a design office and at site during erection and
commissioning
