Position: Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API testing, test automation frameworks, and behavior-driven development (BDD). You will work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks, REST API testing, defect management, and Agile software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
  
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and BDD frameworks.
  
• Perform API testing and validation for REST-based services using Postman and automation tools.
  
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
  
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
  
• Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to resolve issues and improve product quality.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  
• Contribute to test automation framework enhancements and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  
• Maintain test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards.
  
• Support CI/CD and source code management processes using Git.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

• 3–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
  
• Strong programming skills in Java.
  
• Hands-on experience with Cucumber BDD framework.
  
• Experience testing REST APIs using Postman.
  
• Good understanding of API request/response validation, JSON, and HTTP protocols.
  
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and environments.
  
• Experience with Git version control.
  
• Strong understanding of the Defect Management Lifecycle and defect tracking tools.
  
• Experience in Functional, Regression, Integration, and System Testing.
  
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Serenity BDD framework.
  
• Experience with Rest Assured for API automation.
  
• Build and dependency management using Maven.
  
• Unit and automation testing using JUnit.
  
• Basic knowledge of SQL queries and database validation.
  
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
