Position Name - General Manager - Business Development

Experience Range - 7+ Years

Mandatory Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Reinsurance, Facultative (FAC), or Renewable Energy
Insurance.
• Strong knowledge of Solar/Energy Risks Insurance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Role Overview :

The General Manager – Business Development will lead the Renewable Energy with primary
responsibility for driving and expanding the business portfolio delivering innovative risk
transfer solutions for complex energy and infrastructure exposures. This role requires strong
market relationships, commercial acumen, and technical expertise to structure and negotiate
Insurance / reinsurance solutions, support client growth, and strengthen ACE’s leadership in
the renewable energy and reinsurance market.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the Renewable Energy vertical with a focus on Facultative (FAC) placements.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company's Energy & Renewable
Reinsurance portfolio.
• Handle placement of large and complex Solar, Renewable Energy risks in domestic and
international markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, insurers, brokers, underwriters,
and key industry stakeholders.
• Analyse and structure risk transfer solutions for Solar PV Projects, EPC Contractors,
Power Producers, Manufacturers, and Investors.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, capacity, and coverage with reinsurers for placements.
• Prepare placement slips, underwriting submissions, renewal strategies, and reinsurance
proposals.
• Coordinate with underwriting and claims teams to ensure effective servicing of
reinsurance accounts.
• Monitor market trends, treaty capacities, emerging risks, and regulatory developments
within the energy sector.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to revenue growth through strategic
client engagement.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, renewable energy forums, and
reinsurance market meetings.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Reinsurance, Facultative (FAC), or Renewable Energy
Insurance.
