Job Description - Sales Manager - App Sales

Job description 

PBL is planning to introduce a new app to help its customers speed up the process of making inquiries to transport their cargo, receiving a quote and placing the order. It will also help existing customers with long -term contracts to communicate details when an actual transportation job needs to be done. The app will, in addition, be a platform for various vendors of transportation services (i.e. vehicle owners and brokers) so that we can ask for, receive and finalise vehicle hires using the app (if all our own vehicles are busy, we need to hire vehicles from the market).

Your role will be to assess the market, arrive at strategies to make the app offering attractive, communicate the benefits to customers and vendors, and persuade them to download the app and then use it for all their transportation needs.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and outlook, this is the perfect job for you as it is not just limited to sales but to product design and market analysis. In effect, this is a Product Manager's job that includes field sales.

Role & responsibilities 

  • Get end -customers and vendors to download the app
  • Generate transportation sales via the app 
  • Persuade vendors to quote and conclude business using the app
  • Identify areas to improve the design and functionality of the app on an ongoing basis
  • Liaise with internal and external software team(s) to ensure that any issues reported by customers are resolved speedily 
  • Liaise with the software team(s) to ensure that any new features identified for development are incorporated into the app speedily 


Requirements

Preferred candidate profile 

  • Immense interest in field work to meet new customers on a daily basis 
  • Ability to pitch effectively to communicate the benefits of the product and services on offer 
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages - English, Hindi and Telugu are considered minimum requirements 
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • An appetite for meeting targets 
  • Strategy and app design skills
  • Excellent IT skills in understanding how apps function, what is involved in developing apps and adding new features etc. 
  • Ability to quickly learn and use the existing ERP system and other allied software 
  • MS Office 
  • Creativity and an entrepreneurial attitude to work

3 lakhs to 7 lakhs depending on skills and experience.
