Requirements

We are looking for an experienced SAP Group Reporting Consultant with 6+ years of SAP consulting experience, including at least 2 end-to-end SAP implementations with strong hands-on experience in SAP Group Reporting configuration, implementation, rollout, and consolidation processes.

The ideal candidate will have SME-level expertise in financial consolidation, intercompany eliminations, group close, ownership structures, currency translation, and consolidated financial reporting. The candidate should be capable of leading finance and controllership workshops, translating business requirements into configuration-ready specifications, and working directly with senior client stakeholders.

Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Central Finance, Group Reporting Data Collection, and integration with S/4HANA GL is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Group Reporting Implementation

• Lead and deliver SAP Group Reporting implementation and rollout activities.
  
• Configure SAP Group Reporting based on business and consolidation requirements.
  
• Participate in at least 2 end-to-end SAP implementation projects, from requirement gathering through UAT, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
  
• Define and implement consolidation processes aligned with SAP-recommended best practices.
  
• Analyze existing legacy consolidation processes and recommend appropriate SAP Group Reporting solutions.
  
• Support migration from legacy consolidation tools such as SAP BPC, HFM, or similar platforms.
  

Consolidation Process Design

• Lead process design workshops with Finance, Controllership, Accounting, and other business stakeholders.
  
• Understand existing consolidation pain points and translate them into:
  • User stories
    
  • Business requirements
    
  • Functional specifications
    
  • Configuration-ready requirements
    
• Design end-to-end group close and consolidation processes.
  
• Define appropriate consolidation rules, validations, and reporting requirements.
  
• Present proposed consolidation designs and solutions to client stakeholders, including CFO-level audiences.
  

Financial Consolidation & Group Close

• Provide SME-level expertise across:
  • Consolidation
    
  • Intercompany eliminations
    
  • Group close
    
  • Minority interest
    
  • Currency translation
    
  • Consolidated financial statements
    
  • Consolidation of investments
    
  • Ownership structures
    
  • Equity pickup
    
• Configure and support consolidation logic according to accounting and business requirements.
  
• Support statutory and management consolidation reporting cycles.
  
• Troubleshoot consolidation discrepancies and support root-cause analysis.
  

Data Collection & Integration

• Configure and support various Group Reporting data collection methods, including:
  • Flexible upload
    
  • Real-time integration from SAP S/4HANA
    
  • Matrix consolidation
    
• Work with SAP Group Reporting Data Collection processes.
  
• Support integration between SAP Group Reporting and SAP S/4HANA / Central Finance / S/4HANA GL.
  
• Validate data flows from source systems into Group Reporting.
  
• Troubleshoot data collection, mapping, validation, and consolidation issues.
  

Currency Translation & Ownership

• Configure and support currency translation within SAP Group Reporting.
  
• Understand and implement ownership structures and consolidation methods.
  
• Configure consolidation of investments and equity pickup logic.
  
• Support complex organizational structures and consolidation scenarios.
  
• Validate ownership percentages, investment balances, and consolidation results.
  

Reporting & Financial Statements

• Design and maintain Financial Statement Versions (FSVs).
  
• Configure reporting hierarchies and consolidation reporting structures.
  
• Support consolidated financial statement reporting.
  
• Develop and validate management and statutory reporting requirements.
  
• Perform reconciliation between source financial data and consolidated outputs.
  
• Use advanced Excel and reporting-layer capabilities for validation and reconciliation.
  

Testing, UAT & Cutover

• Prepare and execute functional and integration testing for Group Reporting.
  
• Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  
• Coordinate business users during UAT and defect resolution.
  
• Support parallel-run cycles during consolidation cutover.
  
• Validate consolidated results against legacy systems and expected business outcomes.
  
• Support cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities.
  

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Work directly with Finance, Accounting, Controllership, and IT stakeholders.
  
• Lead client discussions and explain complex consolidation concepts in business-friendly language.
  
• Present solution designs, process flows, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  
• Manage requirements, dependencies, risks, and issues across implementation workstreams.
  
• Provide consulting guidance and recommend SAP best practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of overall SAP consulting experience.
  
• Minimum 2 end-to-end SAP implementations.
  
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP Group Reporting configuration and rollout.
  
• SME-level understanding of:

• Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA GL and Group Reporting integration.
  
• Experience designing financial statement versions and reporting hierarchies.
  
• Strong Excel and reconciliation skills.
  
• Experience managing UAT, parallel runs, cutover, and go-live activities.
  
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP Central Finance and Group Reporting integration.
  
• Experience migrating from SAP BPC, HFM, or other legacy consolidation solutions to SAP Group Reporting.
  
• Knowledge of SAP-recommended best practices for Group Reporting.
  
• Experience with statutory and management consolidation.
  
• Prior Big 4 / consulting delivery experience preferred.
  
• SAP Group Reporting certification preferred.
  
• Exposure to AI tools such as Claude or Gemini for reconciliation automation, documentation, or productivity improvement is a plus.
  
• Experience with automation, reporting tools, or reconciliation solutions is an advantage.
