Job Description - Specialist - Industrialization

## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\nAligning with \u201cDigital technology enablement\u201d tenet of Operating for growth \u0026 \u201cManufacturing excellence\u201d imperative as defined by the company, this Specialist role drives operational excellence and sustainable growth by leveraging digitalization, robust manufacturing practices, and continuous process optimization. The role is responsible for flawless industrialization, stabilization, and scale-up of production for new and existing products within the Mobility business, including transmissions, clutches, powertrain, engine air management, inverters, and power distribution \u0026 protection solutions. The Specialist engineer leads shop-floor execution for line setup, validation, and stabilization (PTR/PPAP), ensuring robust launches and consistent manufacturing performance.\n\nThe candidate must have a strong foundation in manufacturing process optimization and digital transformation. This role partners closely with Design, Manufacturing, and IT teams to deploy and scale digital manufacturing capabilities such as digitized manufacturing design and planning, MES, and automation. Acting as a technical bridge between factories, operations, and technology teams, the Specialist Engineer translates business needs into practical, adoptable solutions, supports ROI-driven investment decisions, and contributes to defined digital roadmaps. Moreover, the role leads to the reindustrialization of existing plants by modernizing equipment, optimizing layouts and material flow, and establishing governance models that enable standardized, scalable adoption across the enterprise.\n\n\u2022 Take responsibility for managing the definition, development, and delivery of manufacturing systems products, ensuring alignment with customer requirements \n\u2022 Contribute to the formation of the Manufacturing Tech Stack strategy through specialist expertise and insights into business needs. \n\u2022 Champion an innovation stream within the innovation road map, ensuring the right skill set/talent are in place to execute on the strategy. \n\u2022 Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans, forecast performance against key business performance indicators (KPIs), develop business cases for key activities/projects, and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets. \n\u2022 Identify and manage stakeholders including management level, finding out their needs, issues, and concerns and react to them by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions. \n\u2022 Ensure robust production layouts, and manufacturing processes enabling \u2018Product design to Manufacturing readiness\u2019 ensuring cost-competitiveness, and industrialization-readiness with emphasis on Design for Manufacturing \u0026 Assembly (DFMA) and factory simulation\u2013driven decisions\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering. Advanced education/certification in Digital Transformation will be added advantage.\n * Experience: 12+ Years \n * Lead DFMA assessments for new and transferred products, covering: Process feasibility (casting, forging, machining, welding, assembly).\n * Assembly sequence, tooling concepts, ergonomics, and standard work. PFMEA/PFMA alignment and risk mitigation. Influence product and process design decisions to reduce complexity, variation, and cost.\n * Develop / review factory simulations including line balancing and throughput analysis, Capacity and resource utilization, Layout evaluation and material flow\n * Analyze and validate manufacturing cost models, including machine utilization, cycle time, yield, scrap, Capex/tooling trade-offs. Partner with finance, sourcing \u0026 operations to deliver manufacturing cost models\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Industrialization: Process design, tooling/fixture/test system development, equipment procurement-to-run-off, PTR/PPAP execution, cost model validation. \n\u2022 Plant Integration \u0026 Digital Systems: Layout integration, MES/Historian/SCADA dashboards, traceability \u0026 recipe/version control, ERP hooks, quality data and SPC. \n\u2022 Reindustrialization: Simulation (discrete event etc.), VSM/MTM/MOST, changeover reduction, buffer sizing, capability improvement, equipment retrofit, PM/PHM, downtime analytics. \n\u2022 Materials \u0026 Planning: BOM/MBOM hygiene, routing standards, PoU completeness, Kanban/lean logistics, DOH guardrails via ERP/SIOP coupling. \n\u2022 Quality \u0026 MSA: Measurement system analysis, capability studies (Cp/Cpk/Pp/Ppk), digital inspection, calibration governance. \n\u2022 CI \u0026 Hi5: Visual factory, A3/DMAIC/DFSS, quantified improvements in CONC/OTD/DOH/Flex/TRCR.\n\n\u2022 Values differences: Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization. \n\u2022 Business insight: Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization\u2019s goals. \n\u2022 Strategic mindset: Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. \n\u2022 Customer focus: Builds strong customer relationships and anticipates/delivers customer centric solutions \n\u2022 Ensures accountability: Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.
