Role: Sr Data Engineer - Microsoft BI - 1 Year Contract, Full-Time Conversion possible

Location: Mumbai – Airoli

Work Model: 

• First 3 months: 5 days WFO.


• After 3 months: 3 days WFO + 2 days WFH.


• 2 weekly offs.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft BI stack to design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics solutions within a global banking environment. The role involves building scalable BI solutions, optimizing data platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft BI solutions.


• Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, and data models.


• Build and support SSIS ETL processes, SSRS reports, and Power BI dashboards.


• Develop and maintain SSAS Tabular models using DAX and MDX.


• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Product Managers to deliver business-focused solutions.


• Maintain high delivery quality through coding standards, reviews, and documentation.


• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.


• Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, and reporting issues.


• Build POCs and propose innovative BI solutions.


• Automate recurring processes and improve operational efficiency.


• Mentor junior team members and conduct peer reviews.

Must-Have Requirements

• 8+ years of IT experience with at least 6+ years in Microsoft BI technologies.


• Strong experience with SQL Server (2017/2022).


• Expertise in SQL query optimization and performance tuning.

• Banking or financial services domain experience preferred.

Good to Have

• Python, PySpark, or Apache Airflow experience.


• Kubernetes and Microservices exposure.


• Experience with Vertica or other MPP databases.


• PowerShell scripting.


• Knowledge of Cognos, Tableau, or Qlik.


• Exposure to cloud-based data engineering solutions.
