Senior Quality Engineer

Everbridge is hiring quality engineers for a small team in our Bangalore office to develop a product delivering emergency alerts to citizens. We make software that helps save lives. We believe that the work we do helps make the world a better place. Our platform is AngularJS/EmberJS on the front side, and Java and J2EE (Spring) and other ORM tools like Hibernate, JPA, Liquibase and more coming down the road on the back. We use Relational and NoSQL databases, and work with Restful webservices. We use continuous integration suites like Github and gradle and work with application servers like Tomcat /Apache for our web application development.

Our quality engineers use Selenium and PyTest for test automation and are adept at using tools like SoapUI and JMeter to support their test efforts. We also use Java and Python for building tools that support our product development efforts. We follow context-driven approach of exploratory testing while following the Agile Scrum methodology in our day to day practices.

This position will be focused on developing quality products by being involved in all the phases of software development, but will be specifically responsible for testing the product functionality and also by creating automated frameworks and tests.

Responsibilities:

• Independent contributor. Able to work with very limited help


• Understand the context, design and execute tests with the objective of improving product quality


• Able to think through complex use case scenarios on their own


• Ability to pick up major test targets – functional, performance, security, server side testing etc.


• Building automation test framework and tools; Building and executing automation scripts


• Ability to maintain and install test environments


• Tracking issues and working with other developers to identify root causes


• Ensure proper logging and monitoring to catch errors in all environments


• Create data and monitoring tools

Experience: 5 to 8yrs

• Be an individual Contributor (e.g.: doesn’t need other time in handholding ) .


• Be able to understand complex features and devise strategies to test


• Ability to adapt to ever increasing scope and complexity of testing (eg: supporting OS and devices)


• Bring in the knowledge and experience while solving issues


• Ability to switch between roles as well as in various modules in the application


• End-to-end testing; UI, integration layer, server component and telecom operators


• Agile and scrum experience is desired
