Job Description - State Manager - Sales - Agriculture

Since 1971, Ocean Agro (India) Limited has been working in the field of Agro Products, Plastics, Packaging Materials, and irrigation equipments such as Drip and Sprinkler Systems.

We are producing new generation eco-friendly agro-inputs for more than 3 decades. Our products have superior performance and relatively low cost when compared to similar products. Our Research & Development division develops new product almost every year.

We are promoting Organic Agriculture through Practical Demonstration by personal Visits & Interaction by our Trained and Experianced Field Team, and Providing Crop Specific & Season wise full recipe free samples to all progressive farmers. We also arrange farmer's meeting and Technical seminars where Dept. Experts from Agriculture Universities introduce and demonstrate current information.

Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Territory Sales Manager to promote and sell the value of Ocean Agro brand products in the defined territory. In this position, you'll also serve as a key business consultant and facilitate the placement of our commercial products at 50 + dealer locations. you'll cultivate deep relationships with growers/Framers and deliver the Ocean Agro brand experience through specific recommendations. 10- 15 plus years of equivalent experience is required for this position.

 

Working in our dynamic organization producing new generation eco-friendly agro-inputs for more than 3 decades. Our products have superior performance and relatively low cost when compared to similar products. Our Research & Development division develops new product almost every year.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory management and product line demand issues, set the business direction, and coordinate follow-ups with dealers
  • Coordinate market development/fact plots and farm demonstrations with the assistance of large growers
  • Train the dealer sales force to sell value, deliver our brand experience and manage objections, mostly through ride along and joint farmer calls
  • Implement, promote and communicate marketing incentive programs
  • Actively manage inventory concerns as appropriate to meet business objectives
  • Demonstrate proof of product performance against the competition by being the champion of Ocean Agro brands and product/technical/agronomic knowledge
  • Establish side-by-side trial plots with targeted farmers to collect & summarize performance data to optimize seed product recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred in agronomy, agriculture, business, biology or related field or 15 plus years of equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of professional sales/account management experience or one or more years of sales experience working in the agriculture industry
  • Demonstrate self motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Previous experience successfully working in teams
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Desire for long term career advancement (i.e., Marketing, Product Management, Logistics, Training, Finance)
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment.
