Job Description - Supervisor - Royalty Contract Compliance

This open position is for Armanino India LLP, which is located in India. Armanino India LLP is a fully owned subsidiary of Armanino (USA).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan and perform royalty compliance audits and desktop reviews for various client engagements.
  • Conduct detailed contract reviews to summarize and interpret financial provisions of client agreements with third parties, including record labels, publishers, digital service providers and other licensing entities.
  • Lead a team of staff members under supervision of a Manager and/or Director.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills to evaluate calculations presented on royalty statements for compliance with financial terms in the relevant agreements.
  • Prepare basic and moderately complex workpapers and written reports to calculate and quantify understated royalties as per agreement terms.
  • Continue to develop administrative, professional, and interpersonal skills to the extent of being able to organize, analyze and communicate with both the engagement team and client personnel in a professional, productive, and efficient manner.
  • Exercise professional skepticism in the critical assessment of audit evidence
  • Research and analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters.
  • Prepare clear, complete, and accurate workpapers and audit reports.
  • Update Managers and/or Partners of engagements’ statuses and assurance issues in timely manner.
  • Develop understanding of client businesses related to assigned assurance areas.
  • Understand and comply with the Firm’s quality control policy.
  • Perform timely review of staff workpapers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Perform some management duties, including: second review of workpapers, support manager(s) with resource management, directly report to Partner and attend client presentations/meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Music Business or related field
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the music industry working with royalties, interpreting agreements and/or accounting in audit or assurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and experience in data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Experience in querying large datasets to conduct thorough and accurate analyses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming skills, with the ability to use these skills to streamline data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with valuing intellectual property, including master recordings, publishing rights, and name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights.
