Team Leadership & Coordination
- Act as the primary interface between Acron Aviation U.S. engineering teams, Acron India engineering teams, and HCL delivery teams, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, deliverables, and schedules.
- Lead daily execution of systems and software verification and validation activities for avionics products
- Plan, assign, review, and monitor V&V work packages while ensuring quality, schedule, and technical objectives are achieved
- Identify and escalate technical risks, resource constraints, dependencies, and schedule impacts proactively
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation, AI-enabled tools, and verification efficiency enhancements
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to offshore V&V team members
- Support onboarding of new team members, including tool access, process training, and development environment setup
Systems and Software Verification
- Define, review, and execute verification activities for system requirements, software high-level requirements, software low-level requirements, interface requirements, and integration requirements
- Develop and execute requirements-based testing, analysis, inspections, and reviews in accordance with certification objectives
- Author and maintain test procedures, test cases, automated test assets, test reports, and verification artifacts
- Support software verification activities, including integration testing, regression testing, robustness testing, interface testing, and structural coverage analysis
- Partner with software development teams to investigate coverage gaps, resolve anomalies, and close certification findings
Lab and Test Environment Management
- Configure, maintain, and improve avionics integration laboratories and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
- Support development and maintenance of Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and HIL test benches
- Establish repeatable software integration and regression environments
- Utilize lab instrumentation and diagnostic equipment to support integration, debug, and troubleshooting activities
Certification and Compliance Support
- Support certification activities in accordance with FAA and EASA expectations
- Participate in Stage of Involvement (SOI) audits and certification reviews
- Prepare and review certification evidence packages and compliance documentation
- Author or review verification plans, procedures, test reports, traceability data, coverage reports, and certification support documentation
- Ensure verification evidence is complete, traceable, and audit-ready
Requirements Traceability and Defect Management
- Maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, design artifacts, source code, tests, verification results, and problem reports
- Utilize approved requirements, configuration management, and defect tracking tools
- Lead defect triage activities for software and integrated system anomalies
- Support root cause investigations, corrective action verification, and objective evidence collection
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate across systems, software, hardware, quality, configuration management, certification, and program teams
- Lead technical reviews, readiness reviews, and status meetings
- Create clear work instructions and tasking packages that enable consistent execution across distributed teams
- Provide regular status reporting, metrics, risk visibility, and closure plans to program and engineering leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8–12 years of experience in avionics systems verification, software verification, IV&V, or embedded systems validation within regulated environments
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required to support engineering, certification, and program activities.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized engineering teams, work packages, or supplier-delivered activities
- Strong knowledge of DO-178C and software lifecycle verification activities
- Familiarity with DO-254 concepts and hardware/software integration environments
- Experience supporting certification programs involving FAA, EASA, or equivalent regulatory authorities
- Experience developing and executing requirements-based testing
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience within avionics or embedded systems environments
- Proficiency with Python and familiarity with C/C++
- Experience using requirements, configuration management, and defect tracking tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama, VectorCAST, LDRA, CANoe, CANalyzer, Git, ClearCase/ClearQuest or equivalent tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and regression environments
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Demonstrated a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of working
- Ability to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience supporting offshore engineering delivery models and external engineering partners
- Experience working directly with HCL or similar engineering service organizations
- Familiarity with ARP4754A, ARP4761, and DO-330
- Experience with structural coverage analysis and certification credit activities
- Knowledge of avionics communication protocols, including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 664 (AFDX), CAN, Ethernet, and Serial interfaces
- Experience with SIL, HIL, and avionics integration laboratories
- Exposure to AI-enabled engineering tools and workflow automation
- Current valid U.S. business visa (B1/B2 or equivalent) strongly preferred due to anticipated travel for onboarding, engineering collaboration, integration activities, and project meetings; qualified candidates without an existing visa will also be considered.
- Previous experience supporting global engineering programs requiring travel to customers, certification, or company sites.
