Job Description - Technology and Innovation - Senior SharePoint Administrator


This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technology and Innovation – Senior SharePoint Administrator in India.


This role is a senior technical position responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise SharePoint Online environments within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
You will ensure the stability, security, and governance of large-scale collaboration platforms that support critical business operations across the organization.
The position involves acting as a key escalation point for complex issues while driving best practices in SharePoint administration, compliance, and lifecycle management.
You will work extensively with Microsoft 365 services, supporting integrations across Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform to enable seamless digital collaboration.
A strong focus of the role is automation, using scripting and modern tooling to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
You will also contribute to migration projects and modernization initiatives, including tenant-to-tenant and on-premises to cloud transitions.
This is a high-impact role within an enterprise environment where governance, scalability, and user experience are equally important.


Accountabilities:



  • Administer and support enterprise-scale SharePoint Online environments, ensuring stability, performance, and secure access across the organization.

  • Manage site collections, hub sites, lifecycle processes, external sharing, and overall SharePoint architecture governance.

  • Implement and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards, including DLP policies, sensitivity labels, retention policies, and audit controls.

  • Automate administrative tasks and operational workflows using PowerShell and PnP PowerShell scripting.

  • Support integrations between SharePoint and Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.

  • Lead or support SharePoint migration initiatives, including on-premises to online and tenant-to-tenant transitions.

  • Act as L2/L3 escalation for complex technical, access, performance, and configuration issues.

  • Maintain documentation, governance guidelines, and operational runbooks while mentoring junior administrators.


Requirements:



  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in SharePoint Administration within enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services.

  • Proven experience automating administration tasks using PowerShell and PnP PowerShell.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise governance, security, compliance, and identity management principles.

  • Experience managing SharePoint migration projects in complex environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for performance, access, and configuration-related issues.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to operate effectively in large-scale or regulated enterprise environments.

  • Nice to have: experience with SharePoint On-Premises (2016/2019), Azure AD/Entra ID, Power Platform, and Microsoft certifications.
