DescriptionThe Building Technology Systems Design Intern will support the design and engineering of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Electronic Security Systems (ESS), Audiovisual (AV), and Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, educational, and mixed-use developments.
The intern will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams and gain practical experience in engineering design, BIM coordination, technical documentation, specifications, and construction support services throughout various project stages from concept design to construction administration.
ResponsibilitiesICT Systems
- Assist in the design and documentation of:
- Structured Cabling Systems (Copper & Fiber)
- Telecommunications Rooms (TER/TR)
- Data Centers and Server Rooms
- LAN/WAN Infrastructure
- Wireless Networks (Wi-Fi)
- IP Telephony Systems
- Prepare ICT layouts, riser diagrams, rack elevations, and equipment schedules.
- Support cable pathway planning including conduits, cable trays, trunking, and containment systems.
Electronic Security Systems
- Assist in the design of:
- CCTV Surveillance Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Visitor Management Systems
- Security Management Systems
- Prepare security device layouts, schematics, and equipment schedules.
- Support coverage studies and device placement coordination.
Audiovisual Systems
- Assist in the design of:
- Meeting Room AV Systems
- Boardroom AV Solutions
- Conference and Training Facilities
- Digital Signage Systems
- Public Address Systems
- Background Music Systems
- Support preparation of single-line diagrams, signal flow diagrams, and equipment lists.
Building Automation Systems
- Assist in the development of:
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Smart Building Solutions
- IoT Integration Infrastructure
- System Integration Architecture
- Support preparation of network architecture and integration drawings.
BIM and Design Documentation
- Assist in developing engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Support BIM model development and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Participate in clash detection reviews and model validation exercises.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, schedules, and engineering documentation.
- Assist in maintaining drawing registers and document control procedures.
