Job Description - Social Media Intern - What works

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to join our dynamic marketing team at What Works. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early -career professional eager to gain hands -on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management. As a Social Media Intern, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our brand’s online presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You will assist in developing engaging content, monitoring social media performance, and contributing to strategic campaigns that drive brand awareness and audience engagement. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry professionals, build a strong portfolio, and grow within a fast -paced, results -driven marketing environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in creating and scheduling daily social media content (posts, stories, reels, and videos) aligned with brand voice and campaign goals.
Conduct research on trending topics, hashtags, and competitor strategies to inform content planning.
Monitor social media platforms for engagement, respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
Support the development of content calendars and campaign briefs under the guidance of the marketing team.
Track and report on key performance metrics (engagement rates, reach, follower growth) using analytics tools.
Collaborate with designers and copywriters to produce visually appealing and compelling content.
Stay updated on platform algorithm changes and best practices in social media marketing.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh, creative ideas for content and campaigns.

Requirements

Requirements:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their unique content formats.
Basic knowledge of content creation tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express) and social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and brand consistency.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast -paced environment.
Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and digital trends.
Willingness to learn, adapt quickly, and take constructive feedback.
