We are Hiring Assistant Director of Nursing-Maternity Cover to a lead Nursing care home in Waterford,Ireland.
Location: On-site, Waterford
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Responsibilities
Support the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge (PIC) in providing clinical, operational, and professional leadership to the nursing and care teams.
Oversee and supervise the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
Ensure resident safety is maintained through the implementation of best clinical practices and quality standards.
Promote a culture that respects the privacy, dignity, independence, and rights of all residents.
Monitor care practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organisational policies, and professional standards.
Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing and healthcare staff.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of care quality through effective leadership, supervision, and performance monitoring.
Foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to resident care to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
Recognised nursing qualification.
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 3 years' post-registration nursing experience in the care of older persons within the previous 6 years.
At least 3 years' management experience within a health or social care setting.
Strong clinical knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of best practices and emerging trends in older person care.
Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or a related discipline.
Management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is desirable.
Proven leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
Previous experience in an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) role is advantageous.
