Job Description - Assistant Manager

Reports to                             Charter Bar & Eatery Manager.



The Charter Bar & Eatery Assistant Manager must thrive in a busy, energetic work environment. Focused on driving team motivation, guest experience and upselling/cross selling opportunities. The Assistant Manager of Charter Bar & Eatery must have a passion for training coupled with a wide knowledge of products and deliver incredible experiences to our guests and team alike.

Responsibilities:



  • Developing and Implementing strategies that will ensure a positive experience that exceeds guest’s expectations.

  • Work collaboratively with all department managers to make sure Charter Bar & Eatery operations are running smoothly in tandem with the kitchen.

  • Anticipate all guest needs and respond promptly & accordingly.

  • Establish and maintain standards for staff performance and customer service.

  • Maintaining and resolving all cashiering issues in a timely manner in line with the finance departments requirements.

  • To ensure cashiering discrepancies, accuracy of floats is recorded. Adherence to tills balanced per shift. All waste figures inputted into the POS system daily. All figures must be explained and accounted for.

  • Stock control – to ensure bars are prepared for monthly stocktake.

  • To ensure that all equipment in your area is regularly serviced and any faults/breakages are actioned immediately to be

  • Support staffing requirements for Charter Bar & Eatery appropriately in line with business needs.

  • Attend to employee behaviour, appearance, and performance.

  • Assist in carrying out Departmental Training when required.

  • Assist in conducting daily meetings to ensure that all the team are updated on any challenges or training required.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for all aspects of the Charter Bar & Eatery

  • Support and work with the Charter Bar & Eatery Manager in all aspects of running the bar and restaurant and supporting the Hotel.

  • Ensure the department is fully complying with all Health & Safety Measures.

  • Assist in conducting and attending regular team meetings.

  • Ensure SOP implementation in the department and check the same during routine operational checks. Charter Bar & Eatery Manager guidance to be taken wherever required.

  • Randomly inspecting the stores to check the stock in hand (quality, stock levels, expiry etc) with the Charter Bar & Eatery

  • Making sure that Charter Bar & Eatery Restaurant is maintaining the high standards in cleanliness, ambience, service readiness, staff grooming, etc.

  • Monitor the co-ordination between all departments for smooth & efficient operations.

  • Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction and service recovery process.

  • Work with Charter Bar & Eatery Manager to review & train the staff to upkeep the staffing needs of the department.

  • Identifying staff learning needs and assisting with development

  • Assisting in providing timely and constructive feedback to all direct reports as and when required either formally or informally.

  • Monitor and maintain operation & overhead cost to maintain maximum revenue to the organisation.

  • Adhering to all deadlines and scheduling requirements in line with the Charter Bar & Eatery

  • Strong leadership skills with an affinity for capacity development.

  • Excellent conflict resolution abilities.

  • Innovative, trustworthy, and impartial.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Responsible for the overall management of Charter Bar & Eatery when the Manager is unavailable.

  • Acting as Duty Manager if required

  • Any other duties assigned.
