Job Description - Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Cork

Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Client: Tier 1 Main Contractor
Essentials: Degree in Quantity Surveying; 1-2 years' experience in a similar role; experience with SAP, CostX, Cubit or similar
Location: Cork

Projects: School Builds, Commercial New-Build
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000
Package: 26 days annual leave, income protection, life assurance, healthcare cover, pension (7.5%), discretionary bonus
Progression: Quantity Surveyor
Reporting to: Commercial Lead

A premier Main Contractor is seeking an ambitious and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its dynamic commercial team. This role offers a unique chance to gain comprehensive exposure to all aspects of commercial management within a leading construction firm renowned for its commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability.

Assist in the procurement process, including take-offs, tender documentation, and tracking returns.

Support the procurement of subcontractor and consultant trades, ensuring all required documents are in place before site commencement.

Compile and agree on monthly applications for work completed to support project cashflow.

Assist in preparing internal commercial reports and support monthly deliverables such as CVR reports and cashflows.

Maintain project commercial records on SharePoint, ensuring all documentation is correctly filed.

Aid in developing defences for disputes and claims, compiling supporting records and reports.
