Your key duties will include:
- Managing a portfolio of audit engagements, ensuring work is planned, performed and completed in line with professional standards, firm methodology and agreed timelines
- Reviewing audit working papers and financial statements, providing clear technical guidance and ensuring audit evidence supports conclusions reached
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients during the audit process, maintaining proactive communication and resolving queries in a timely and professional manner
- Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work of audit seniors and trainees, supporting their technical development and day-to-day performance
- Identifying audit risks, technical accounting matters and process improvements, escalating matters appropriately to senior leadership and contributing to practical solutions
- Supporting the consistent application of audit templates, working paper standards and quality control procedures across engagements
- Contributing to internal training initiatives by sharing technical knowledge, identifying training needs and supporting the delivery of practical audit learning
- Working collaboratively with Partners, Directors and the wider Valaston team to deliver consistent, high-quality service to clients across jurisdictions
