We are hiring a Basic Cardiac Physiologist to a Hospital in  Ireland.







Location: On-site – Dublin, Ireland



Job Type: Permanent / Full-time



 
 Responsibilities




  • Perform a range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including ECGs, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, event monitoring, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, pacemaker/ICD follow-up and programming, and echocardiography.



  • Assist with invasive cardiac procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, right heart catheterisation, pacemaker and ICD implantation, IVUS, and FFR/iFR studies.



  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cardiac physiology techniques, diagnostic procedures, and the operation of specialised cardiology equipment.



  • Accurately perform diagnostic measurements, interpret test data, and ensure the timely completion and delivery of patient investigations.



  • Communicate effectively with consultants, general practitioners, multidisciplinary teams, patients, and their families to support high-quality patient care.



  • Maintain accurate departmental records, ensure equipment is serviced according to manufacturer guidelines, and promptly report equipment faults or safety concerns.



  • Uphold infection prevention, patient privacy, health and safety, and clinical governance standards while maintaining a safe working environment.



  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintain departmental policies and procedures, and contribute to service development.



  • Keep up to date with advances in cardiology by participating in continuing professional development, training programmes, and relevant departmental meetings.



  • Manage departmental supplies efficiently, support equipment evaluation and procurement, report incidents when required, and undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.








Requirements




  • Hold a BSc (Honours) in Clinical Measurement Science from TUD/DIT, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the IICMP/HSE, or the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) (for those qualified in or before 2005).



  • Have a minimum of one year of post-qualification experience working in a Cardiology Department.



  • Possess Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or an equivalent recognised qualification.



  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of cardiology principles, diagnostic procedures, and cardiac physiology practices.



  • Apply evidence-based practice by incorporating current research into clinical decision-making and patient care.



  • Exhibit excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.



  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, showing initiative, professionalism, and a proactive approach to service improvement.



  • Demonstrate clinical competence and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of cardiology services.



  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging developments and technologies in cardiac physiology through ongoing professional development.



  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions to patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
