Job Description - Clinical Neuropsychologist




RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.







We are currently looking for a Clinical Neuropsychologist to lead our team and ensure we are offering the best standard of care to our Residents.











Responsibilities








  • Conduct comprehensive psychometric, neuropsychological, functional, and behavioural assessments to inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation outcomes.



  • Develop case formulations and deliver evidence-based psychological interventions through individual and group therapy sessions.



  • Design, implement, and monitor Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, ensuring consistent application across the multidisciplinary team.



  • Provide psychoeducation, emotional support, and rehabilitation guidance to residents and their families, promoting person-centred care.



  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to develop rehabilitation goals, participate in case conferences, contribute to discharge planning, and support community reintegration.



  • Undertake capacity assessments, maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and professional guidelines, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and clinical governance standards.



  • Deliver clinical supervision, education, training, and consultation to assistant psychologists and staff, supporting continuous professional development.



  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, prepare comprehensive reports, contribute to audits, accreditation activities, and ongoing service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.



  • Build and maintain effective relationships with healthcare professionals, external agencies, and stakeholders to coordinate seamless resident care and support services.



  • Promote excellence in psychological practice by participating in research, continuous professional development, policy implementation, and other duties that support the ongoing development of the service.







Requirements




  • Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology from a recognised institution.



  • Recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Psychology with eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland or an equivalent recognised psychological regulatory body.



  • Candidates who qualified outside the Republic of Ireland must have their qualifications validated by the PSI before the interview stage.



  • Minimum of 3 years' postgraduate psychology experience, including relevant supervised professional training.



  • Demonstrated experience in the psychological assessment, rehabilitation, and therapeutic management of individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI).



  • Strong knowledge of neuropsychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, behavioural support, and rehabilitation planning.



  • Experience delivering training, education, workshops, and presentations to multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals.



  • Experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to Assistant Psychologists or trainee psychologists.



  • Excellent clinical reasoning, case formulation, report writing, organisational, and caseload management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic clinical environment.



  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, with a compassionate, ethical, and person-centred approach to care.



  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.



  • Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport (essential).
