We are hiring Clinical Nurse Manger 1 - Oncology Day Unit into a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the Oncology Day Unit, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.

Assess patient care needs, allocate workloads, and delegate duties according to staff competencies and professional guidelines.

Administer chemotherapy, cytotoxic medications, IV cannulation, and venepuncture in line with hospital policies and safety protocols.

Provide patient and family education on chemotherapy treatments, care plans, and available cancer support services.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation, monitor risk management processes, and manage complaints effectively.

Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and students while promoting professional development and evidence-based practice.

Communicate effectively with the Clinical Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care.

Participate in staff orientation, clinical education, mandatory training, and performance reviews to maintain high clinical standards.

Promote compliance with NMBI standards, HSE guidelines, hospital policies, and quality improvement initiatives.

Foster a collaborative, patient-centred environment through strong leadership, teamwork, and continuous service improvement.

Requirements

Current NMBI General Nurse registration in good standing.

Recognised post-registration qualification in Oncology Nursing.

Minimum 3 years' clinical experience in Oncology Nursing, with 5 years' experience preferred.

Competency in venepuncture, cannulation, and the administration of cytotoxic drugs.

Recent and relevant experience in an acute hospital oncology setting.

Strong leadership, teaching, critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Knowledge of change management principles and national nursing strategies.

Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills with a flexible approach to rostering and rotations.

Commitment to continuing professional development and keeping up to date with advances in oncology nursing.
