We are hiring Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Surgical inpatient Unit into a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. 







Location: On-site – Dublin, Ireland

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time


 Key Responsibilities




  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.



  • Assess patient care needs, allocate workloads appropriately, and assign duties based on staff competencies and skill mix.



  • Delegate responsibilities to nursing and support staff in accordance with professional standards, legal requirements, and hospital policies.



  • Provide direct patient care when required, including IV cannulation, venepuncture, patient education, and family support.



  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.



  • Communicate effectively with the Clinical Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, and multidisciplinary team regarding patient care, unit requirements, incidents, and risk management issues.



  • Demonstrate leadership by supervising nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and support personnel, while acting as a positive role model and resource person within the unit.



  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, complaint management, risk management processes, and hospital-wide nursing communication forums.



  • Support staff development through orientation, clinical induction, mentoring, preceptorship, and the identification of training and educational needs.



  • Maintain professional competence through continuous learning, attendance at mandatory training, participation in research and evidence-based practice, and fostering effective interdisciplinary relationships to enhance patient outcomes.







Requirements




  • Hold a valid and active NMBI General Nurse registration in good standing, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred, particularly within an acute hospital setting.



  • Demonstrate strong leadership, teaching, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.



  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering positive professional relationships and contributing to high-quality patient care.



  • Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational, and time-management skills, while maintaining flexibility regarding rostering, rotations, and changing service needs.



  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of specialised nursing practices, national healthcare strategies, and emerging developments, while consistently delivering patient-centred care with dignity, respect, empathy, and a commitment to quality outcomes.
