We are Hiring Clinical Nurse Manager Triage Oncology Unit for our Hospital client in Dublin.

Full time / Permanent Contract(37.5 Hours Per Week)

Responsibilities

Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Oncology Triage service, ensuring timely assessment and management of patients.

Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff delivering oncology triage services.

Perform comprehensive telephone and face-to-face triage assessments, identifying patients requiring urgent intervention or escalation of care.

Prioritise patient care based on clinical urgency, ensuring safe, evidence-based decision-making.

Coordinate patient referrals, admissions, diagnostics, and follow-up appointments in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Monitor patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies, identifying and managing treatment-related toxicities and complications.

Ensure prompt recognition and escalation of oncology emergencies, including neutropenic sepsis, spinal cord compression, and tumour lysis syndrome.

Educate patients and families on symptom management, treatment side effects, medications, and when to seek urgent medical attention.

Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.

Promote high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and control, and clinical governance.

Monitor clinical incidents, patient feedback, and risks, implementing appropriate corrective and quality improvement actions.

Participate in the development, implementation, and review of oncology triage policies, protocols, and clinical pathways.

Support staff orientation, education, competency assessment, and ongoing professional development.

Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development within the Oncology Department.

Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, allied health professionals, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and relevant national oncology guidelines.

Participate in roster planning, resource allocation, and effective utilisation of staffing within the Oncology Triage service.

Act as a clinical role model, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and compassionate patient care.

Requirements

Current registration on the General Division of the register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland with a valid NMBI PIN.

Minimum of 3â5 years' post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (essential).

A recognised postgraduate qualification in Oncology Nursing or a relevant nursing specialty (essential).

At least 2 years' recent clinical experience in Medical Oncology (essential).

Minimum of 2 years' management or leadership experience in an outpatient and/or inpatient oncology setting (desirable).

Proven experience using the UK Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS) Triage Assessment Tool (essential).

Strong knowledge of oncology triage, systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT), treatment-related toxicities, and oncology emergencies.

Working knowledge of risk management, clinical audit, quality improvement, and key performance indicators.

Demonstrated ability to analyse clinical data, prepare reports, and implement evidence-based improvements in nursing practice.

Proven clinical competence with a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic health record systems.
