We are currently hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Oncology Clinical Trials Research Nurse for a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland



Working Hours - 37 hours per week   







Key Responsibilities




  • Independently coordinate assigned oncology clinical trials, ensuring compliance with study protocols from initiation through participant follow-up.



  • Identify, screen, recruit, and enrol eligible participants while managing the informed consent process in line with clinical trial requirements.



  • Deliver specialist oncology nursing care, perform clinical assessments, monitor participants throughout treatment, and escalate clinical concerns when necessary.



  • Educate patients and their families on trial procedures, treatment schedules, potential risks, benefits, and follow-up requirements.



  • Coordinate treatment plans, investigations, laboratory tests, and follow-up visits, ensuring all protocol-specific assessments are completed accurately and on schedule.



  • Collect, process, store, and manage blood and tissue samples, maintain trial supplies, and ensure adherence to protocol requirements, including dose modifications where applicable.



  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators, Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams to support effective trial delivery and protocol compliance.



  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, electronic case report forms (eCRFs), data integrity, patient confidentiality, and timely reporting of serious adverse events in accordance with ICH-GCP and data protection regulations.



  • Participate in investigator meetings, site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and inspections, while supporting research dissemination and continuous quality improvement.



  • Maintain professional registration with NMBI, engage in ongoing professional development, and provide education and training to healthcare staff on clinical trial protocols and research best practices.







Requirements




  • Registered General Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible for NMBI registration. A postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology/Haematology or Clinical Trials/Research is desirable.



  • Minimum of 4 years’ post-registration experience in an acute hospital within the last 5 years, with experience in clinical trials, research, or Medical Oncology. Competency in venepuncture, IV cannulation, and Basic Life Support (BLS) is essential.



  • Sound knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), informed consent, adverse event reporting, pharmacovigilance, sample management, chain of custody, GDPR, and healthcare accreditation standards.



  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR), clinical trial management systems, Microsoft Office, and experienced in accurate clinical data management and reporting.



  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret research protocols, work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and support research and education initiatives.
