Provide skilled, practical, and patient-centred care to Oncology and Palliative Care patients.
Participate in the assessment, planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of individualised patient care.
Administer chemotherapy safely in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Provide holistic care and emotional support to oncology and palliative patients and their families, considering their complex needs.
Maintain flexibility with rostering and rotate between the inpatient unit and Oncology Day Unit as required.
Participate in the coordination of oncology outpatient clinics and maintain awareness of available community-based support services.
Supervise and support less experienced nurses and student nurses, contributing to their education and clinical development.
Provide holistic care to emergency, medical, and surgical patients and their families when required.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
Practise in accordance with NMBI Codes of Practice, Rules and Guidelines, and all relevant hospital policies and procedures.
Full registration in the General Division of the NMBI Register of Nurses.
Minimum 1 year of recent post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
Chemotherapy experience is preferred but not essential, as on-site training will be provided.
A recognised post-registration qualification in Oncology, such as a Higher Diploma or Postgraduate course, is desirable, or willingness to undertake one.
Current Basic Life Support certification or willingness to complete the course.
Strong clinical and professional skills, with good IT, interpersonal, communication, and English language skills.
