Job Description - Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology in our Hospital in Limerick, Ireland.

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent |

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the delivery of the Urology Service, overseeing the patient journey from initial consultation through pre-assessment, treatment, and discharge, while collaborating closely with Consultants, Nursing Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and support services.

Communicate assessment findings, treatment plans, care programmes, and recommendations effectively to the multidisciplinary team, patients, and other relevant stakeholders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Investigate, address, and respond to patient and family complaints in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner, ensuring concerns are managed in line with organisational guidelines.

Contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of induction programmes, clinical education, training initiatives, and professional development opportunities for nursing, healthcare, and support staff.

Lead and coordinate specialist urology services, including but not limited to bladder instillations, urodynamic pressure flow studies, uroflowmetry testing, male and female catheterisation, self-catheterisation training, and lithotripsy services.

Provide effective clinical leadership, guidance, and motivation to staff, fostering a positive work environment, strong team collaboration, and high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Requirements

Must hold current R.G.N. (Registered General Nurse) registration.

A minimum of five yearsâ post-registration nursing experience is required, including at least one year of recent experience within a Urology setting.

Previous management experience and/or a relevant management qualification is desirable.

Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, leadership, communication, and accountability skills.

Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to the role.

Commitment to promoting and upholding a culture of Care, Compassion, and Commitment in line with the core values of the Hospital System.

Flexibility in working patterns is essential. While the roster will generally be scheduled over five days per week, adaptability is required to meet service demands.

Must be registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Urology Nursing, or be actively undertaking and progressing towards completion of such a qualification.
