Job Description - Clinical Specialist Radiographer - Cath Lab


RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals, nursing homes, home care, and community care settings.

We are currently hiring Clinical Specialist Radiographer - Cath Lab for a reputed hospital in Dublin, Ireland.



 Contract/Full Time




Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with specialised imaging procedures within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab).



  • Operate and optimise fluoroscopy and angiography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.



  • Support interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent insertion, and pacemaker implantation.



  • Ensure radiation safety and compliance with national guidelines and departmental protocols.



  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing information, reassurance, and monitoring throughout the examination.



  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, physiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.



  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and procedural data.



  • Lead quality assurance, audit, and service improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab.



  • Provide clinical supervision, teaching, and mentorship to radiographers, students, and junior staff.



  • Participate in equipment management, troubleshooting, protocol development, and implementation of best practices to support a safe and efficient Cath Lab service.







Requirements














  • Hold the Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic), a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiography, or an equivalent qualification.



  • Qualification must be recognised and validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography and Radiation Therapy (IIRRT).



  • Be registered with CORU.



  • Possess a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience in a Cardiovascular Angiography/Cath Lab setting.



  • Demonstrate ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in line with IIRRT requirements and relevant to the Clinical Specialist Radiographer role.



  • Have proven experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.



  • Demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment.



  • Ability to effectively manage both clinical and non-clinical situations.



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with staff, clinicians, and management at all organisational levels.



  • Interest and involvement in quality improvement initiatives within Interventional Cardiovascular Services.



  • Strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.



  • Demonstrated capacity for accountability, leadership, and independent decision-making.
