Job Description - Cost Manager - Construction

Role: Cost Manager

Client: Leading Residential Developer

Essentials: 2 years' post-graduate cost planning experience with a PQS/Developer; strong IT skills (Buildsoft-Cubit, CostX or equivalent, Microsoft Word and Excel)

Location: Office based in Central Dublin

Salary: €55,000 - €65,000

Reporting to: Senior Cost Manager

Our client, a leading residential developer, is offering a unique opportunity for a Cost Manager to join their team and assist in the provision of quantity surveying services under the guidance of a Senior Cost Manager. The role will involve measuring planned works, contributing to cost projections, and supporting project decision-making throughout acquisition and design development.

Assist in preparing cost plans from early feasibility through to detailed cost planning, ready for handover to the project team.

Participate in design team meetings, providing feedback to the Senior Cost Manager.

Communicate essential design information to the Senior Cost Manager to ensure efficiency in unit types, layouts, and materials.

Liaise with the cost planning team and benchmark data from live projects to support budgeting.

Work with the sales team to ensure specifications and budgets align with market expectations.

Aid in taking off quantities and creating Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for upcoming developments.

Help develop and maintain the company's construction cost databank for financial appraisals.

Assist in the preparation of Part V applications and ensure compliance with local authorities.

Engage with PQS consultants to prepare BoQs for project budgets.

Attend meetings and conduct site visits.
