DeltaV Designer Automation Engineer

SimoTech is seeking a DeltaV Designer
Automation Engineer n Automation Documentation & Standardisation
Specialist to support a large pharmaceutical client based in Cork.
This role will be responsible for leading the review, standardisation, and
ongoing ownership of automation design documentation across Small
Molecule and Peptide manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will initially assess and align a new documentation
suite against existing DeltaV configurations, before taking ownership of the
documentation framework to support future projects and facility expansions.

This role will play a key part in
driving consistency, quality, and standardisation across automation
documentation while leveraging AI-based tools where appropriate to improve
review efficiency, document generation, and compliance checking.

Key Responsibilities

• Review
  and validate automation design documentation against existing DeltaV system
  configurations.
  
• Identify
  gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardisation across
  documentation suites.
  
• Establish,
  maintain, and continuously improve automation documentation standards across
  multiple manufacturing facilities.
  
• Take
  ownership of the current documentation framework and support its deployment in
  future projects and new building developments.
  
• Collaborate
  with Automation, CSV, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure documentation
  accuracy and compliance.
  
• Utilise
  AI tools and technologies to accelerate document reviews, drafting, quality
  checks, and consistency verification.
  
• Support
  the implementation of best practices for document management, control, and
  standardisation.
  
• Provide
  recommendations for documentation improvements based on operational and project
  requirements.
  
  

Requirements

•  Minimum
  2-3 years of hands-on Emerson DeltaV experience in a regulated manufacturing
  environment.
  
• Strong background in CSV
  (Computer Systems Validation) documentation, with a focus on design
  documentation and standardisation.
  
• Demonstrated
  experience reviewing technical documentation against system configurations.
  
•  Excellent
  attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality.
  
• Ability
  to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities
  effectively.
  
• Familiarity
  with AI tools and a willingness to apply emerging technologies to documentation
  processes.
  
• Strong
  written and verbal communication skills in English.
  
• Comfortable
  working remotely with attendance on-site approximately one day per week.
