Deputy Head of Internal Audit

A well known Irish corporation are looking to hire a Senior Internal Audit Manager / Deputy Head of Internal Audit to work closely with the Head of IA and play a key role in running the audit function.

Role responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assisting in setting and continuously reviewing the strategic direction for a value focused internal audit department across the three strategic enablers of people, process and technology
  
• Leading and guiding the Audit Team to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the Annual audit plan
  
• Conducting audit assignments from initiation to completion including 'in flight' project audits and continuous auditing in line with the Internal Audit Plan and International Internal Auditing Standards.
  
• Working with the team to develop best practice audit work programmes in compliance with International Internal Audit (IIA) Standards.
  
• Supervising and reviewing the work of the General Audit Team ensuring work is performed in line with IIA Standards, and for the presentation of finalised reporting to the Head of Internal Audit.
  

Requirements

• Hold a professional Accountancy qualification ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  
• Have 8 + years of experience with at least 3 working in an Internal Audit function
  
• Experience operating in a regulated financial services environment is highly desirable
  
• Experience in providing best practice project management (eg using APM or six sigma) is also desirable
  
• People management experience and excellent communication skills and a dedication to perfection and expertise in coaching
