Job Description - Design Coordinator - Galway

Role: Design Coordinator

Essentials: 4+ years’ design coordination experience within construction; strong understanding of design management, coordination and buildability; experience managing consultants and subcontractors; Full Driving License.

Location: Galway

Salary: €55,000 - €70,000

Package: Company car, bonus scheme, pension plan, health insurance + other benefits.

Lead the coordination and delivery of design information across a major construction project, ensuring it is fully coordinated, compliant, buildable, within budget and delivered on programme.

Manage and coordinate consultants, subcontractors and the wider design team, driving actions, resolving issues and ensuring design information is delivered to programme.

Review specifications, Employer’s Requirements, planning conditions, drawings and tender documentation, ensuring the design reflects the agreed scope and supports value engineering.

Lead design team meetings and workshops, preparing agendas, tracking actions and ensuring issues are closed out within agreed timeframes.

Manage key design processes including Design Responsibility Matrices, design programmes, planning/building control trackers, design risk registers and change control.

Work closely with the Project Manager, Design Manager, QS and site team to ensure design decisions consider buildability, construction methodology, commercial impact, programme and H&S.

Ensure drawings and technical information are fully reviewed, coordinated and suitable for construction, while managing document control and information management procedures.

Support BCAR, O&M and project handover requirements, including design close-out, as-built information, technical submittals, samples and outstanding design/planning conditions.

Mentor and manage Project Document Controllers, promoting company procedures, continual improvement and effective document management.
