Job Description - Electrician


Who is Murphy:


Murphy is a leading international engineering and construction company. We specialise in a variety of sectors including transport and infrastructure, water & wastewater, energy and industry. 


 


Key responsibilities:


· Install, route and secure electrical power, control and instrumentation cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.


· Fabricate, install and maintain cable containment systems, including tray, ladder, trunking and conduit systems.


· Perform glanding, termination and connection of power, control and instrumentation cables.


· Conduct electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding activities to ensure system integrity and compliance.


· Participate in the commissioning and start-up of electrical systems and equipment.


· Commission and troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC-controlled systems and associated equipment.


· Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across industrial facilities and company-operated sites.


· Work safely within hazardous and controlled environments, including ATEX zoned areas.


· Undertake electrical works across a variety of sectors, including Gas, Water, Wastewater, Renewable Energy and Industrial projects.


· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety regulations, quality standards and company procedures.


 


Qualifications & Skills:


· Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.


· 1-3 years' post-apprenticeship experience (or recently qualified electricians with relevant industrial experience will also be considered).


· Experience working within industrial, utilities, manufacturing, water/wastewater, gas, energy or renewable sectors is desirable.


· Familiarity with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
