Finance Manager

ID Recruitment are working with an award-winning Mechanical Engineering company located in Mayo to recruit a Finance Manager.

The person in this role will have strong leadership and commercial awareness and will be responsible to taking control and leading the day-to-day finance function of the business and provide accurate and timely financial information to the Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day finance function and oversee members of the accounts team.
  
  


• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for Directors.
  
  


• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenditure and financial performance.
  
  


• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, supplier payments and credit control.
  
  


• Oversee weekly payroll and VAT, PAYE/PRSI and other Revenue requirements.
  
  


• Ensure bank and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  
  


• Coordinate year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisers.
  
  


• Support project cost tracking, committed costs and other commercial reporting.
  
  


• Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve finance processes and systems.
  
  


• Provide financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to support management decision-making.
  
  

Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar role.
  
  


• Strong practical experience across management accounts, AP, AR, payroll, cash flow and financial reporting.
  
  


• Experience managing or supervising an accounts team.
  
  


• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
  
  


• Confident working independently and communicating with Directors and senior management.
  
  


• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be advantageous.
  
  


• Accounting/finance qualification or significant relevant experience. Qualified, part-qualified and qualified-by-experience candidates will be considered.
