Financial Accountant

ID Recruitment are working with a renowned large car dealership company in Mayo to recruit a S Financial Accountant.

Reporting to the financial controller, the person in this role will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, control, and compliance across the dealership group. This role ensures accurate financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains strong financial governance within a fast-paced automotive retail environment.

Key Responsibilities include;

Financial Reporting & Control

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis
  


• Ensure timely and accurate year-end financial statements
  


• Maintain the general ledger and oversee all reconciliations
  


• Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
  

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the annual budgeting process
  


• Produce regular forecasts and provide insights on financial performance
  


• Partner with department heads to monitor budgets and cost control
  

Cash Flow & Working Capital

• Monitor and manage cash flow across the business
  


• Oversee banking relationships, payments, and treasury functions
  


• Ensure effective control of stock, debtors, and creditors
  

Audit & Compliance

• Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process
  


• Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.)
  


• Maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
  

Commercial Support

• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions
  


• Work closely with sales and operations teams to improve profitability
  


• Analyse margins, vehicle stock performance, and aftersales revenue
  

Skills, education and experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  


• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  


• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  


• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems
