As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and an exceptional dining experience.

Midweek availability Monday - Friday with weekend availability ideal.

Main Duties
• To live to and embody the values of the business.
• Ensure that guests are seated and provided with menus and drinks promptly.
• Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available
   in order to answer any questions guests may have.
• Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly
   and accurately.
• Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders in line with the guest expectations
   ensuring an exceptional level of service is always maintained.
• Set up, clear and promptly service tables after use to ensure that guests can be seated in a timely manner.
• To take and receive payment for all food and beverage orders.
• To ensure F&B areas are tidied and cleaned to the required standards.
• To liaise with the Duty Manager during the day with regard to any irregularities
• To ensure effective communication with other departments in the Hotel
• To be responsible for the room service when required.
• To assist with the set up for functions
• To assist guests with any queries they may have.
• To promote a sense of team spirit within the F&B department and with all other departments
• To ensure all aspects of the food service and standards of presentation and service are maintained.
• To be observant of the food being served from the kitchen to ensure any problems are dealt with before
   reaching the guest.
• To establish and promote excellent relations with the guests ensuring their expectations are always met and
   leading the team by example
• To report daily to the Duty Manager, Manager or Supervisor with regard to service, comments and any
   other issues encountered.
• To assist guests with your knowledge of the menu and to take order accurately
• To assist with preparation of food service areas for service.
• To be competent in taking reservations and allocating tables when necessary.
• To assist in the preparation of table plans
• To ensure all work is carried out in a hygienic manner and that the work area has excellent hygiene
   standards.

• To adhere to all health and safety regulations as set out in staff handbook.
• To participate in in all training provided by the company.

About You

We are looking for a positive, energetic and customer-focused individual who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage, restaurant, bar, café or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.


• A passion for customer service and hospitality.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• A friendly, professional and approachable manner.


• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.


• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.


• Flexibility to work part-time hours during weekdays. (only note if relevant)

Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to the Department Manager and Manager on Duty.


• Works closely with colleagues across the Food & Beverage Department and wider hotel team.


• Supports the overall guest experience through effective communication and teamwork.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Guest Service Excellence

• Welcome guests warmly and ensure they are seated promptly.


• Present menus and provide guests with information regarding food and beverage offerings.


• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them efficiently to the kitchen and bar teams.


• Deliver food and beverages safely and professionally while maintaining exceptional service standards.


• Assist guests with any queries, requests or special requirements.


• Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that encourages guest satisfaction and repeat business.

Food & Beverage Operations

• Develop a thorough knowledge of menus, daily specials and beverage offerings.


• Ensure tables are set up correctly before service and cleared promptly after use.


• Prepare food and beverage service areas to the required standards.


• Assist with room service requirements when necessary.


• Support the setup and breakdown of meetings, functions and events.


• Ensure all aspects of food and beverage presentation meet hotel standards.

Cash Handling & Reservations

• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.


• Assist with taking reservations and allocating tables when required.


• Support the preparation of table plans during busy periods or special events.


• Follow all hotel procedures relating to cash handling and guest billing.

Quality & Standards

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout all Food & Beverage areas.


• Be observant during service to ensure food quality and presentation meet guest expectations.


• Assist in resolving any guest concerns promptly and professionally.


• Report guest feedback and service issues to the Manager on Duty.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, hotel policies and food safety procedures.


• Ensure all work is carried out in a hygienic and safe manner.


• Maintain excellent hygiene standards within all service areas.


• Participate fully in all mandatory training programmes.


• Support a culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.

Teamwork & Communication

• Foster positive working relationships within the Food & Beverage Department and across the hotel.


• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure smooth service operations.
