€32,000 - €36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Monday to Friday
8:30am to 5:30pm

40 hours per week

Overtime available when required.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Yard Operative to join a well-established agricultural and rural supply business in Co. Roscommon.

This is a varied, hands-on position suitable for someone who enjoys practical work, is comfortable working indoors and outdoors, and is willing to become involved in all aspects of a busy yard operation. The role also includes working with agricultural products and wool handling operations.

Key Responsibilities

• General yard and maintenance duties


• Loading and unloading stock


• Organising and maintaining the yard and storage areas


• Operating a forklift (training can be provided)


• Collections and deliveries


• Assisting customers with collections and enquiries


• Grading, handling and baling wool


• Supporting day-to-day agricultural merchant operations


• Adhering to health and safety procedures


• Working overtime when required

Essential Requirements

• Full clean driving licence


• Fluent English


• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn


• Reliable and punctual


• Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Agricultural work


• Farming


• Agricultural merchants


• General yard operations


• Builders merchants


• Warehouse or stores environments


• Forklift operation


• Delivery driving


• Feed mills or grain stores


• Hardware or farm supply businesses

Additional Preferred Skills

• Forklift certification


• Agricultural knowledge


• Experience handling feed, fertiliser or farm supplies


• Customer service experience
