As we continue to expand our energy efficiency and retrofit services, we are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead our Retrofit Division and oversee the delivery of SEAI-supported residential energy upgrade programmes.

The Opportunity 

This is a senior leadership role with full operational responsibility for Activ8's Retrofit Division. 

Reporting to senior management, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of SEAI-supported retrofit programmes, including the One Stop Shop and Warmer Homes Schemes. You will oversee multi-measure residential energy upgrades including solar PV, heat pumps, insulation, windows, and doors. 

You will be responsible for programme delivery, operational performance, team development, stakeholder engagement, compliance, and the continued growth of the division. 

This role offers the opportunity to build and scale a key strategic business unit within one of Ireland's fastest-growing renewable energy companies. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage the Retrofit Division, ensuring alignment with Activ8's strategic objectives. 

• Act as the primary point of contact with SEAI regarding programme delivery, compliance, reporting, and audits. 

• Oversee the successful delivery of retrofit projects nationwide, ensuring quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and profitability. 

• Develop and implement scalable operational processes, systems, and reporting structures. 

• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and performance metrics. 

• Build, lead, and develop high-performing internal teams and subcontractor networks. 

• Ensure full compliance with SEAI requirements, Irish building regulations, and health and safety legislation. 

• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the division. 

• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, innovation, partnerships, and business growth. 

• Provide regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. 
  

Skills & Experience:

Essential 

• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering retrofit, construction, energy efficiency, or building upgrade programmes. 

• Proven experience managing large-scale projects or operational programmes. 

• Strong understanding of SEAI schemes and residential retrofit delivery. 

• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and subcontractor networks. 

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. 

• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience. 

• Full clean driving license and willingness to travel nationwide. 

Desirable 

• Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Engineering, Building Services, Project Management, or a related discipline. 

• Experience working within One Stop Shop or Warmer Homes Scheme programmes. 

• Knowledge of solar PV, heat pumps, insulation, ventilation, windows, and other residential energy upgrade measures. 

• Experience designing operational processes and scaling growing business units.
