Health & Safety Manager — Civil Engineering & Building — Limerick — Permanent

We're hiring on behalf of a long-established Munster contractor working across civil engineering, building, demolition and environmental projects for public and private clients. Two positions available.

The role: You own safety performance across live projects, reporting to senior management — with the standing to stop work when it's warranted and the backing to make it stick.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Owning H&S performance across assigned projects
• Maintaining the Safety Management System — Construction Regulations, ISO 45001
• Writing and reviewing Safety Statements and RAMS, and making sure they match what happens on site
• Running inspections and audits, and driving corrective actions to close-out
• Leading incident investigation, root cause analysis and HSA reporting
• Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and training
• Acting as point of contact for the HSA, clients and PSCS/PSDP duty holders

What we need:

• Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety or Occupational H&S
• 5+ years' construction or civils H&S experience in Ireland
• IOSH membership (Chartered or Graduate) or working towards it
• Detailed knowledge of the Construction Regulations and the PSCS/PSDP framework
• Full clean driving licence

Nice to have:

• NEBOSH Diploma
• Demolition or environmental H&S experience — asbestos, contaminated land, structural demolition
• Manual Handling Instructor certification

The reality of the role: Plenty of companies want a safety manager who files paperwork. This one wants someone who changes behaviour on site. If you're comfortable challenging a foreman on a Friday afternoon, you'll do well here.

Limerick — site-based with regional travel. Permanent. Excellent salary and package on offer, commensurate with experience.
