Job Description - Healthcare Assistant

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are hiring a Healthcare Assistant for one of the best Nursing Homes in Co Cork who is passionate about improving the quality of life of their residents and places a strong importance on social, physical, and mental stimulation.

Job Type: Permanent / Full-time or Part-time

Responsibilities

Help provide residents with excellent, all-encompassing care while consistently advancing their equality and dignity.

Completing chores that have been assigned and delegated involves providing direct care as well as all areas of daily living, such as eating, dressing, undressing, toileting, washing, and conversing with others.

Encourage each resident's freedom while respecting their privacy and dignity.

Residents with limited mobility should receive special attention and assistance.

Recognize, comprehend, and adhere to care plans; notify nurses right away if a resident's physical or mental condition changes.

Preserving a secure atmosphere for the home's occupants, employees, and guests.

Effectively communicate with each resident and their family members or representatives.

Participate in and improve the caliber of resident events and activities.

Requirements

Cheerful, caring, positive, dependable and compassionate approach to care

Genuine interest in supporting and caring for elderly residents

Ability to provide companionship and emotional support

Ability to assist with personal care, meals and mobility

Minimum 1 year of experience in elderly care preferred

Candidates without prior experience are also welcome to pursue a career in healthcare

QQI Level 5 in Healthcare completed or in progress

Relevant Nursing or Allied Health qualification is desirable but not essential

Willingness to complete Garda vetting and obtain clearance

Ability to provide suitable character references

Fluent English communication skills
