The role offers €20–€25 per hour dependant on experience and the opportunity to further develop both technical and leadership skills within a supportive and well-run team environment.

A well-established commercial vehicle workshop based in Co. Galway is currently seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic / Technician to join its growing team. The business services a mixed fleet of heavy goods vehicles and trailers, working across leading brands such as MAN, Scania, Isuzu, DAF and similar manufacturers, with additional exposure to transport refrigeration systems as part of the wider operation.

This is a hands-on role within a modern, well-equipped workshop environment and would suit a mechanic with strong diagnostic ability who takes pride in their work and is comfortable taking ownership of jobs while supporting junior team members where required. Key responsibilities include:

• Servicing


• Maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers


• Carrying out diagnostics and fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems


• Working on a range of commercial vehicles


• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance


• Assisting with transport refrigeration systems where required


• Supporting and guiding junior mechanics within the workshop


• Ensuring all work is completed to required safety and quality standards


• Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation.
