ALS has a fantastic opportunity for a Microbiology Lab Technician to join their team in Clonmel. Job Summary

• To perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and to inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results.

• To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.

• As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated area.

• Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.

• Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information.

• Perform other duties as required.

Starting salary of €31,000 rising within 6 months depending on performance. Additional shift allowance available for staff working on a shift pattern.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science or related discipline

• Experience in laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage but is not essential

• Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)

• Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail

• Keen interest on food science and food safety

• Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: 12 hour shift

Work Location: Carrigeen Business Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (In-person).
