The Role:

 

The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.   

The Operational Control function ensures that all necessary controls are in place to proactively reduce operational risk and improve outcomes for our customers.

The Operations Delivery team supports the management of the four main sub-functions of Operational Control, which are:

  • Operational Risk & Resilience;

  • Operations Technical Services;

  • Asset Interventions and Roads & Utilities;

  • Integrated Operations Management.

 

The Operations Delivery team is responsible for managing the delivery of functional programmes of work which include: driving the delivery of strategic initiatives and reporting; developing functional capability; supporting the integration and effectiveness of the function; and ensuring that employee engagement and talent development are rolled out with maximum impact. The role holder will support the Operations Delivery Manager in overseeing the resolution of functional issues as they arise.

Reporting to the Operations Delivery Manager, the Operations Delivery Analyst and their duties and responsibilities are outlined below.  

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the Operations Delivery Team in its role of driving the delivery of strategic initiatives and reporting to ensure successful outcomes within agreed timelines and driving the reporting suite to ensure the strategic vision is realised for the function;
  • Contribute to achieving the objectives and targets of the Operational Control Work Programmes; 
  • Support the establishment and operating rhythms for the functional governance structures and risk management processes;
  • Support the team in identifying and developing performance metrics to demonstrate the impact of the team, including the delivery of relevant reports and business cases;
  • Provide support across the Operations Control function, as required;  
  • Responsible for developing the input templates and collating data from the various teams and other areas of the business; 
  • Ensure that Operations Delivery reporting is completed, timely and accurately, and the content is appropriate to the relevant stakeholders; 
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of operational key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Provide support in driving employee engagement, learning and development and succession planning agenda across the function, leveraging support from the HR centres of excellence and business partnering teams
  • Responsible for developing performance reporting requirements;
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement to the existing Operational Control processes, ensuring alignment with the Operational Strategy and Performance Delivery teams in Asset Operational Support.
  • Participate in ongoing Operational Control projects as required;
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders from Asset Operations, Human Resources, Health & Safety, Facilities, Customer Operations, Finance and other areas of the business, as required. 
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business;
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards;. 
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives;.
  • Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with UÉs Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation;
  • Other duties as required.

     

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Demonstrable experience in cross-functional administration and knowledge of the workings of Asset Operations is desirable.
  • Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable, and/or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and/or relevant experience.

  • We aim high - Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
